Do you ever hurt so bad you ache? Not because you stubbed your toe, not even because you pulled a muscle in your back. Do you ever just ache because for some reason you find what hurts in your life and it just hits you like a ton of bricks? All the things you're sad about...all the things that have always hurt they spring on you. It makes your heart hurt. Is it even true your heart can physically hurt?
You sit so still that you feel everything. The slight draft in the room, the ripple in the floor beneth you. You become so self aware when you're hurt that it hurts. Everything hurts. Sadly, life goes on. Put a smile on that face of yours and keep up, life tells us. So we do.
We move past the hurt, and it makes us hurt just a tad more.
